Removal and Disposal of Refuse from Shipping Container Storage Areas in Informal Settlements

The City of Cape Town invites tenders for the removal and disposal of refuse from shipping container storage areas located within informal settlements. This service aims to provide reliable waste management cleansing, create employment opportunities for local residents, and ensure compliance with the National Environmental Management: Waste Act, 2008. The contract period is 16 months, covering the collection of general household, bulky, and illegally dumped waste from designated points, with disposal at approved landfill sites.
To be eligible, tenderers must be registered as an accredited waste management service provider with the City of Cape Town, and this accreditation must be valid at the time of award. Bidders must also comply with all tender conditions, including submitting all required documentation and demonstrating adequate financial and operational capacity to service multiple areas if bidding for more than one. Tenderers must provide proof of accreditation or re-application if their accreditation is about to expire.
