Scope of Work
The Department of Transport in the Eastern Cape invites bids from service providers to establish a panel for the provision of scholar transport services. This will involve transporting qualifying and approved learners to and from schools throughout the Eastern Cape Province over a period of thirty-six (36) months, commencing from the 2027/28 financial year.
Bids are open to suitably qualifying individual public transport operators who are registered on the Central Supplier Database (CSD) and comply with all public transport and vehicle requirements, including possessing valid Passenger Liability Insurance. While operating licences are not mandatory at submission, successful bidders will be assisted in obtaining them. Preference will be given to local individual Public Transport Operators, with efforts to award contracts to women, youth, military veterans, and people with disabilities to address historical inequalities.
