Installation of Smart Meters, Data Concentrators, Ready Board Retrofit, Access Covers, Insulation Piercing Connector (IPC), Pole Top Split Metering Kiosks, Secure Pole Mount DC Kiosk and All Associated Accessories Including Decommissioning, Scrapping and Disposal of Existing Meters for ESKOM Distribution Division in the Limlanga Cluster for 2 Years

The scope of this document is to define the minimum environmental requirements and related documentation to be submitted by contractors appointed for the installation of smart meters and associated infrastructure within Eskom's Distribution Division, LimLanga cluster. This ensures compliance with environmental legislation, pollution prevention, and continuous improvement throughout the contract period.Specific eligibility for environmental compliance requires bidders to demonstrate their commitment through a company environmental policy signed by senior management, a clear organogram identifying environmental management functions, and an appointment letter for the designated environmental management person. Additionally, contractors must submit a project-specific Environmental Aspect and Impact Register, an Environmental Incident Complaints Register, an Emergency Preparedness Plan, and a Waste Management Plan including provisions for e-waste disposal, supported by evidence of legal arrangements where applicable.
