Appointment of Service Provider for Specialist Environmental Monitoring of Aquaculture Development Zone in Saldanha Bay

Appointment of a service provider to conduct specialist environmental monitoring, including adherence to environmental authorisations, environmental management programmes, and monitoring protocols for the sea-based Aquaculture Development Zone within Saldanha Bay, Western Cape, over a period of thirty-six (36) months. The scope covers benthic, annual benthic chemical, epifauna reef, servicing of bottom moored instruments, quarterly environmental reporting, amendments to environmental protocols, finfish model validation, digital invertebrate taxonomic reference library, project management, and endangered/threatened species monitoring.Bidders must submit a complete bid document including specific SBD forms, CSD registration, valid B-BBEE status, and a Letter of Authority. Critical mandatory requirements include the project leader being SACNASP registered (or relevant professional body) with an MSc in Marine Natural Sciences, the bidder having conducted at least two multi-stakeholder marine environmental monitoring projects, the project team demonstrating relevant expertise, and possessing a certified Scientific Dive Team. Furthermore, three years of verifiable experience in developing monitoring protocols for aquaculture/marine environment/research is required. Bidders must be tax compliant and registered on the Central Supplier Database (CSD).
