Open System Backup Solution

The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) is issuing a Request for Information (RFI) to qualified vendors regarding solutions to transition its current Linear Tape-Open (LTO) tape-based backup infrastructure to more modern disk-based, cloud-integrated, deduplication appliance, or hybrid backup technologies. The primary objectives are to reduce backup and recovery windows, enhance data reliability, improve scalability, boost operational efficiency, optimize total cost of ownership, ensure compatibility with existing software or recommend alternatives, and enable secure offsite replication or cloud integration.
Interested respondents must submit their RFI response electronically via email to RFPSubmissions@sabc.co.za by 11 September 2026 at 12H00. This is an information-gathering exercise and not a Request for Proposal, meaning no award or price evaluations will be conducted based on this request. Respondents are required to register their interest by emailing contact details and indicating the RFI number.
