Scope of Work
The scope of this project involves the urgent refurbishment and upgrade of storm-damaged sewer infrastructure, wastewater treatment works (WWTW), and effluent main in Margate (Phase 2). The goal is to ensure treated effluent complies with approved standards and includes the construction of new waterborne sewer infrastructure for Margate Ext.3.
Key tasks include providing household connections for unserved formal households, dredging and cleaning reactors and sedimentation tanks, and refurbishing treatment train 3 to handle influent wastewater. Additionally, the project requires the construction of new secondary sedimentation tanks and return activated sludge pump stations, along with site security and an access road. Tenderers must possess a CIDB grading of 9CE or higher, with main civil contractors sub-contracting mechanical work to firms with 8ME or higher grading if they lack in-house capacity.
