Construction of Pella Wastewater Treatment Works (oxidation Ponds)

The Works comprise the construction, testing and commissioning of the Pella Wastewater Treatment Works (WWTW), an oxidation-pond treatment system serving Pella within the Khâi-Ma Local Municipality. The Works include the complete civil, structural, building, geosynthetic, process-pipework and ancillary infrastructure required to receive, treat, store and manage municipal wastewater and nightsoil flows safely and reliably. The scope includes, but is not limited to, site establishment, bulk excavation, inlet works, anaerobic ponds, facultative ponds, maturation ponds, treated-effluent storage, evaporation pond, interconnecting pipelines, sludge drying beds, stormwater management, access roads, operator’s facility, solar-powered lighting, security fencing, water tanks, project signage, environmental protection, testing, commissioning, operator training, performance demonstration, defects correction, as-built information, operating and maintenance manuals, and handover of the complete facility. Only tenderers registered with the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) in a contractor grading designation of 7CE or higher are eligible. Joint ventures are permitted if all members are CIDB registered, the lead partner is in the CE class, and the combined grading is 7CE or higher. Attendance at the compulsory clarification meeting and site inspection is required, and at least one authorised representative must attend and sign the register. The tenderer must not be restricted from conducting business with an organ of state and must achieve a minimum functionality score of 75 points out of 100.
