Replacement and Maintenance of Self-Service Fuel Bowsers at KSIA

The scope of this project involves the replacement and maintenance of self-service fuel bowsers at King Shaka International Airport (KSIA). This comprehensive undertaking includes the decommissioning and removal of existing mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment, followed by the supply and installation of new dual hose fuel dispensers/bowsers, submersible pumps, associated pipework, explosion-proof equipment, electrical cabling, and safety-related apparatus. A crucial component is a software upgrade designed to interface seamlessly with the airport's existing Fleet & Billing Software and provide a new forecourt management system, aiming for a turnkey solution with a single point of accountability. Eligibility for this NEC3 Engineering and Construction Contract requires the contractor to provide key personnel, including ECSA-registered Mechanical and Electrical Engineers, a SAQA/QCTO Accredited Trade Test Millwright, and Technical Assistants. Bidders must also provide a compliant B-BBEE Certificate annually, demonstrate proof of Workers' Compensation Act (WCA) registration, and secure specific insurance, notably aviation liability insurance with a minimum indemnity of R300,000. Strict adherence to all Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSAct) regulations and a limitation of subcontracting to no more than 20% of the Works are mandatory.
